Instructions On How To Install A K&N 2 Inch PCV Breather Filter On A MKII Turbo 91-95

NOTE: This modification is legal "For Off-Road Use Only" and violates emission control regulations. This procedure as outlined here is completely reversible.

Disclaimer: What you do to your car is your responsibility not mine.

Purpose: To eliminate oil condensation in the intercooler and prevent oil vapors from decreasing fuel octane in the firing chamber.

Parts Purchased:

K&N 2" PCV Breather Filter with chrome top and 5/8" rubber inlet- Part number 62-1340 $16.95

1 Foot "Firewall Heater Hose" 5/8 inch $.95

3 ½" to 1 ¼" hose clamps $2.50

1 5/8" plug

Tools Needed:

Pair of Pliers
#2 Slotted Screwdriver

Begin by covering the rear trunk lid with towels or an old blanket so you can place the parts and tools there without scratching the paint. Using the pliers, compress the OEM hose clamp on the end of the PCV hose that come off the metal pipe located immediately in front of the spark plug wire on the left (driver's side) of the valve cover and slide it towards the middle of the hose. Repeat this step with the hose clamp on the other end of the hose where the metal pipette goes into the intake. Remove the hose and pipette.
Separate the pipette from the OEM hose.
Trim the length of the firewall heater hose to approximately 5 inches.
Insert the pipette into the 5-inch length of hose and fasten it securely using one of the new hose clamps.
Slide the other end of the pipette into the inlet on the K&N Filter and fasten securely with the hose clamp that is supplied with the filter.
Put a new hose clamp on the free end of the firewall heater hose but do not tighten.
Slide the end of the hose over the metal pipe that comes out of the valve cover and position it so that the top of the K&N filter faces up, towards the engine compartment lid.
4 Secure the hose in place with the hose clamp you pre-positioned before the last step.
Insert the 5/8-inch plug into the intake (where the pipette was) and secure it with a new hose clamp.

You're done!
