These are pictures of our 4 Siamese cats. Mickey and Dutchess are Lilac Point Siamese, this refers to the color of their ears, tail and paws. The more traditional color most people think of when they hear Siamese is referred to as "Seal Point" That is the color you see on the kittens, Fred and Ethel. There are actually several different variations in color, a few others are Chocolate Point, Blue Point, and Tortie Point. Mickey turned 5 this past New Year's Eve, Dutchess is the baby, she turned 3 in March.

Mickey and Dutchess are not related, despite the similarity in appearance, they are both from different breeders. Fred and Ethel, however, are not only from the same litter, they are also twins that were born in the same birth sac! The Siamese cat makes a wonderful pet, they are unusually attentive for a cat, usually come when called, and very affectionate. They also frequently live to around 20 years of age. (most breeds live much less, between 12 and 14 years at most) Siamese do require lots of attention and affection, and are fond of getting into places they don't belong, for example, Mickey will regularly open the sliding mirrored door on the walk in closet, go inside, and curl up in the dry cleaning hamper. Dutchess's favorite spot is on top of my computer monitor (it's nice and warm there and she can keep an eye on me in case I start doing anything interesting) The one thing some people might consider to be a negative with these cats is their piercing voice, and their willingness to use it. I've frequently had people I was on the phone with ask me if there was a baby crying in the background. I like the fact that my cats "talk" to me, according to some experts they have a fairly extensive vocabulary and I have observed this first hand over four fun-filled years. For example-I normally go up to bed between 11pm and Midnight. Sometime during that hour, Mickey will come find me wherever I am, and start twining around my ankles and crying. (He knows it's bedtime) Nothing I do will make him stop or go away. The only thing to do at that point is pack it up and go to bed!

The last four years have been very rewarding, and I look forward to many more years of enjoyment. I highly recommend this breed for people considering a pet. Please feel free to email me with any questions.
